כאב לבנו
A series I created after the death of my father, an aircraft mechanic and Holocaust survivor, about the legacy he left: blueprints, technical precision, and silences.

The title of this series, “Ke’av Le’vno,” holds a deep, untranslatable duality in Hebrew. Depending on its vocalization, the same letters can be read as “As a father to his son,” highlighting the core relationship and inheritance, or as “The pain of his son” / “Our heartache,” reflecting the emotional fracture.
In this series, I confront the death of my father, a Holocaust survivor who passed away in 2018. I found myself dealing not only with the loss but also with the legacy he left behind: a legacy of blueprints, complex systems, technical precision and meticulousness, as well as emotional distance, anger and silences. Despite the love, distances were formed that we could not bridge.
My father was formerly an aircraft mechanic, a man of machines and operating manuals, a man of parts that must work together precisely. But in his connection to the emotional world, and especially with us, his children, there were loose screws and unplanned malfunctions.
In this series of works, I attempt to bridge these two worlds, to connect the mechanical and the emotional, the cold precision of the blueprints with the warmth, chaos and human search. There, among the straight lines and dry words, I search for what was not written: the silences, the weakness, the uncontrollable anger, and the places where his hand trembled.
This is not nostalgia. It is an act of dismantling and reassembling, an attempt to understand him and myself, and perhaps, to forgive.
The artworks were created in mixed media: digital art based on blueprints and texts from a technical aircraft manual I inherited from my father, combined with photographs and images generated by artificial intelligence.
Works from the series hung in a gallery, at their real size.
